Qashqai tribe I
The study of primary form has led to the creation of 99 wheel-thrown pots ranging in height from 10cm to 200cm. The taller pieces were executed in sections but glazed using a ladder. Memories of visits to Qashqai tribes during migration in Fars and Khuzestan, and residues of visual and sensory experiences whilst visiting the qashqai, the textures and colours of their tents and livestock, reflect the mindscape. Several pieces from this collection are in private and national collections in Britain and in Iran.
